The Secret to Creative Momentum

How to keep writing even through the rough patches.

I've had amazing conversations with other writers lately. We've shared about our creative habits - what works, what doesn't, and how to adjust as we go.

I love hearing all about creative rhythms. It's one of my favourite topics.

And the best part? The more we share, the more we see ourselves in each other's experience.

There is so much love and camaraderie in the generosity between artists and entrepreneurs. When we discover that we're each other's biggest supporters, not the competitors the world sets us up to be -- everything changes.

When you find your people, keep them close and treat them well.

Gone are the days of the isolated artist.

If anything kills creativity, it's feeling alone. When you're connected, you're powerful. You know your words matter. And you have people who root for you.

Aquarius season arrived over a week ago -- and we just had the beautiful lunar New Year on January 29th. Aquarian energy is all about finding your tribe. We're empowered by our friends, and we change the world with our collective voices.

The secret to staying inspired and motivated is found in your community.

I lean on my writer friends for accountability, creative brainstorming, tearful support sessions, and milestone celebrations.

We cheer each other on through the rough patches and the big wins.

Friends love you, root for you, and support you.

When life interrupts those connections (like it did in January), I feel unmoored. And I find ways to stay in touch until we can gather in person again.

Having people in your corner is the secret to staying on track. To solving the inevitable blocks and frustrations. They cheer you on when that critic in your head gets too loud. Or you think you have nothing to say.

We all trip on the path to completing our projects. That is 100% natural and even builds character. But it's the camaraderie that makes the journey fun.

When I can share my latest silly writing joke or character foibles? It's a thrill to have friends who get it - and laugh right along with me.

As you gear up for your next leap, ask yourself:
